The Bootstrap Web subgroup continued its discussion of Web 2.0 focusing more on business models than specific technologies. We discussed how the interactive character of the Internet feeds into the Web 2.0 “Architecture of Particpation.” How much of the web is inherently free or commodity, and what business models and tech innovations will prove lucrative?

National Instruments on Bootstrapping

Bootstrap Books: The Human Fabric
Bijoy Goswami and Dave Wolpert speak to the Bootstrap Bookclub about the MRE/5D Framework outlined in The Human Fabric. In particular, they discuss the “Power of 2,” or complementary opposites, needed in a founding team. They also address how they used bootstrap principles such to publish the book. In an application of Demo/Sell/Build, they sold discounted copies of the book as it was being written and solicited feedback from readers.
